Salt Dough Beads

Mo Mo loves rumaging through my bead drawer and trying on all my necklaces. So we decided to make our own salt dough beads.

First we made the dough:

300g plain flour
300g salt
1 tblsp veg oil
200ml water

Mix the flour, salt and oil and then add the water until a soft dough is formed.
Sprinkle flour on the table, roll out your dough and create!

Pull of little bits of dough and roll into bead shapes. Use a kebab skewer to poke holes in your beads.

Or poke your dough with lots of holes to make lovely patterns!

Put your creations on greaseproof paper and bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

Let your beads cool.

Get painting! We used acrylic paints.

Once the paint had dried, Mo Mo threaded her beads...

... to make a beautiful necklace and bracelet (to match the Mermaid outifit!)
